Bluetooth beacons are hardware transmitters - a class of Bluetooth low energy (LE) devices that broadcast their identifier to nearby portable electronic devices. The technology enables smartphones, tablets and other devices to perform actions when in close proximity to a beacon.
Evoko Naso Services uses BLE beacons using Apple's iBeacon protocol to detect the presence of a device within certain proximity of the beacons location within a space e.g. a meeting room or a desk, to automate actions on behalf of the user, for example:
- Check in to a meeting
- Check out of a meeting
- Identify when the host of a meeting walks into a room and automatically initiates a video-conference
The instructions in this section guide you through the process of enabling beacon based sensors for your locations and spaces to enable automation.
